7. Google Chrome

On your computer, open Chrome.

At the top right, click More

At the bottom, click Advanced.

Under "Privacy and security," click Content settings.

Click Cookies.

From here, you can

  • • Turn on cookies: Next to "Blocked," turn on the switch.
  • • Turn off cookies: Turn off Allow sites to save and read cookie data.

8. Safari

Safari > Preferences, click Privacy, then do any of the following:

  • • Always block cookies:Select “Block all cookies.

Websites, third parties and advertisers can’t store cookies and other data on your Mac. This may prevent some websites from working properly.

  • • Remove stored cookies and data:Click Manage Website Data, select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

Removing the data may reduce tracking, but may also log you out of websites or change website behaviour.

  • • Ask websites not to track you:Some websites keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. You can have Safari ask sites and their third party content providers (including advertisers) not to track you.

9. Firefox

Click the menu button and choose Options.

Select the Privacy & Securitypanel and go to the Cookies and Site Data

Select Accept cookies and site data to enable cookies. To disable cookies, select Block cookies and site data and use the drop-down menu next to Type blocked to choose the type of cookies to block.

Choose how long cookies are allowed to be stored:

  • • Keep until: They expire: Each cookie will be removed when it reaches its expiration date, which is set by the site that sent the cookie. Firefox is closed: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox is closed.

Close the about:preferences Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
